Enrolment Week - Creating their own stories
Babies have been looking at books which have been created by the staff using pictures of the different children that attend. The children were encouraged to look for pictures of themselves.
Toddlers enjoyed making up their own story using puppets. One child chose the farmer puppet and said "go to the moon" so all the children went on an imaginary adventure to the moon. They travelled in the rocket wearing space helmets. This activity was then extended by creating space music using the musical instruments. The children had great fun and they were sad to leave the moon.
Pre-school children had to vote for their favourite story and the winner was 'whatever next'. they then acted out the story using props and masks that they had made.
Jill from Usborne books also held a story session with the children.
