Chippy Tea on the Beach!
At nursery, we created our very own beach. We filled the central area with sand trays (full of buckets, spades and other relevant toys). We then brought out our tables and chairs so the children could all enjoy tea together. For tea the children were spoiled with Fish, Chips and Peas as their main and Ice Lollies for their pudding! Archie (pre school) said "Mummy lets me have ice lollies in the summer" and Louis (pre school) said, "I love fish and chips!" Ivy also went home and told daddy that she had tea on the beach.
After eating, the children got up from the table and run to the sand area. The children really enjoyed playing with other age groups and pre school seemed especially happy, having a chance to play with the babies. Whilst playing with the sand a few children started mentioning the holidays they have been on, and they engaged in conversations about this for a short while. They all loved the opportunity to tell their peers about their holidays and when speaking, the other children listened.
The staff decided to put on some background music, which was very popular! Many of the children gathered around the CD player and showed off their favourite dance moves. Oliver Moon (1 year)showed great pleasure in the music. He showed confidence when dancing along to the tunes and put a lot of concentration on the CD player.
