We have had another fun filled day here at Busy Bees Rushmere celebrating Enrolment Week. Throughout the nursery all of the children have enjoyed listening to and retelling the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.'
Our youngest children in the 0-2 year old room had lots of messy fun using all of their senses to explore different fruits. Maxwell particularly enjoyed creating a beautiful picture printing with apples. With each print he made he repeatedly said "Wow. Apple. More"
The two to three year old children in our Toddler room made their very own fruit kebabs for snack. They held lengthy conversations about their favourite fruits. The children took great care when using safety knives to cut their fruit into small pieces. The children demonstrated excellent fine motor skills when threading the fruit pieces onto their sticks.
Our green fingered Pre-School children have been very busy buying and planting fruit and vegetable seeds ready for spring. They talked about where food comes from and why we need to eat a variety of foods to stay healthy. The children will be closely observing their plants and will be selling the fruits and vegetables in a new greengrocers stall later in the summer.
