In pre-school this week we have been undertaking a number of fun activities with the children based around the idea of living a healthy lifestyle.
Monday: We've been using fruit as a way to keep cool! Through cutting up a range of different fruit and mashing it all together we have managed to create sorbet with the children, which involved bananas, melon and even pineapple. The children got to enjoy this in the afternoon to help keep them cool within the hot weather at the start of the week.
Tuesday: We enjoyed a number of tropical fruit today, where we got to explore different colours, the feel of tropical fruit and especially the taste. The fruit involved were passion fruit, grapefruit, papaya and pineapple.
Wednesday: Not only have we been exploring healthy food, of Wednesday we engaged with Wake and Shake Wednesday. The children got to follow the dance routine for Wake and Shake as well as taking part in the Wake and Shake games.
Thursday: The children today took part in a role play experience of Goldilocks and the three bears, where we got to use real props to make the story come to life, trying out three bears different chairs and their beds as well, which were to hard, to soft and just right! . After acting out the story the children then got to create a healthy porridge that they thought the three bears would really approve of!
Friday: We've been busy cutting up our fruit once again, but this time we've made something more interesting. We created a summer fruit flan! We had a range of different fruits to use from apples, bananas, cherries and even grapes, which all made for a tasty treat to try during the afternoon.
