Glenrothes Preschool visited by Nurse Elaine
This afternoon Pre School had a visit from Elaine the nurse. As a group we spoke about what the role of a nurse does and Elaine answered any questions we had, explaining everything she could. One child asked, 'Do you look after my granny who is sick in hospital?' another asking, 'Do you put cream on people is they have a sore bit?'. Elaine brought with her thermometers, plasters and bandages which she showed to the children. Then within smaller groups we bandaged up eachother asking, 'What is wrong?' 'What part is sore?' 'Do you need a plaster or bandage?' giving the children a choice. We used red paint as blood and used baby wipes to clean the area before placing on a plaster/bandage. The boys and girls were really involved throughout this and were very eager when asking questions.
