Well what a graduation we had this year! Our chef, John played a big part in planning graduation with the theme, Superworm. This was inspired by the book Superworm. After deciding on this theme, John then spent weeks teaching the pre-school children to play particular chords on harmonicas and how to play along with him singing the story and playing along himself.
The children all picked this upvery quickly and loved the experience of learning how to play an instrument and then be able to show their loved ones their new skills.
John also set the scene by painting the backdrop exactly like the front cover of the book and helping the team bring the outiside indoors with lots of foliage and a bubble machine to boot.
It all went to plan as they sang along to the Superworm story, sang a goodbye song and then were each presented with their Graduation Certificates. After all the proceedings were completed, parents then enjoyed socialising while the children played with playdough and colouring in.
It finished with the cutting of the graduation cake, also prepared from scratch by John. He even made an edible model of each Graduate, which they each got to take home, along with some cake and their Graduation photos.
It was a great evening and the pre-school team were very proud of all of their Graduates. We will be sad to see another bunch leave the nursery but wish them all the best in their new adventure!
