'White Watch' crew came to visit at nursery today with an engine for the children to explore in promotion of International Fire Fighter Day.
The Crew were impressed with the children's knowledge of the 'Stop, Drop and Roll' in the event of a fire and them knowing the number to ring (999).
The crew asked the children if they had smoke alarms in their homes and talked to them about why these are important. The children were asked to check when they got home if they could see these on their ceilings.
The children were also asked if they knew their addresses in the event of a fire - this is something that we can promote with parents of our older children.
The children then, if they wished to were able to hold the hose, try on helmets and sit in the Engine. It was lovely that some children came in to nursery especially with their parents to see this.
