CHINGFORD’S Busy Bees nursery is spearheading new technology to enable parents to become more involved in their child’s learning.
Developed by ParentZone, a new online app has been introduced to the New Road-based nursery, to allow a greater and easier two-way flow of communication between parents and nursery staff.
Staff at the nursery said the cutting edge technology replaces the traditional paper-based method of recording each child’s day and parents can see a timeline of activities.
Mums and dads can securely log in, view photos, videos and observations made by each child’s key person, as well as meals, sleep times and nappy changes.
Busy Bees director Lisa Snell said: “Parents can be involved in current time with their own child’s assessment, add comments and other important information that they would like nursery to be aware of.
“The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum means that our nursery staff carry out regular observations of every child, ensuring that their learning and development incorporates their interests and needs as well as recording special moments in their development. The evidence collected from these observations is analysed regularly to make assessments of the children’s learning and development.”
