National Gardening Week was launched by the RHS with the hope of becoming the country’s biggest celebration of gardening. Thousands of people, gardens, charities, retailers, culture and heritage organisations and groups have got involved over the years and we did too!
Throughout the week, the children got out and explored the outside area. Toddlers were digging up a storm, planting bulbs and seeds to be able to watch them grow over the coming weeks and learning the names of the different types of flowers.
Our Foundation Class got green-fingered and planted some new plants in and around their garden. They also looked at different aspects of the weather this week; measuring and charting rainfall throughout the week and exploring the science behind where rain comes from and talked about how rainbows are formed!
