Throughout the week we have had a number of different activities where the children have been engaged in what it means to live a vegetarian life style.

Within our Under 2's room they have been exploring different fruits that can be found around the world, where they really showed their interests in the new tastes that were on offer for them. They've been engaged with talk time baskets exploring what fruits look like in their skins such as oranges, bananas and even pineapples. We've even been trying to grow our own vegetables this week, planting some seeds where we took this home to show our parents and keep an eye on what may grow from this!

In 2-3's the children were creating their own fruit kebabs for their snack time, which went down a real treat with the variety they had on offer. They even managed to get nice and messy through potato printing, where they were exploring the colours and shapes they could make with the vegetable. The children  created their own vegetables from play dough, and to finish of their week of vegetable filled fun, they all got to create their own vegetarian pizza which they had for tea.

Within the pre-school room the children have been getting creative with their vegetables, they've been busy carving butternut squashes, where they got to draw on them to plan out their ideas before they cut out the faces. The children have been exploring a great number of vegetables within vegetable printing, with carrots, potato and even peppers. Even a handful of cooking activities have taken place in our small kitchen, where we had cheese puffs and on Friday the children created their own soup, suggesting what went into it and once it was cooked they explored their own unique taste which they had created with the vegetables.
