NATIONAL BAKING WEEK

Here at Busy Bees in Bury St Edmunds, we celebrated National Baking Week in style!

Our fabulous Catering Team planned a fun filled week fr the children to participate in, with a baking activity taking place each day.  Rebecca and Liz got very involved with the activities, talking to them about where the ingredients come from and discussing cooking activities they have done at home.  A display fro the parents was completed each day, for them to see what they child had been up to.

On Monday, our Toddlers and Pre-Schoolers made their own Buns and decorated them with icing and sprinkles.  Our younger children made their own Jam Tarts to take home.

Tuesday saw our Toddlers and Pre-Schools be given the very important job of making the Yorkshire Puddlings fro lunch time.  The children were very proud of the finished product when they appeared on their plates at lunchtime.  Our children under two made their own mini pizzas to take home with them.

On Wednesday, our babies helped Rebecca to make a yummy Chocolate Orange Cake, pouring in the ingredients and mxing it.  The Pre-Schoolers made their own Cheese Puffs to eat at Tea time.  Rebecca and Liz also made Homemade Flapjack for the parents to enjoy as they collected, with a recipe card available also.

Thursday saw the revealing of the "Bake of the Week" with a yummy tea of Homemade Sausage Rolls - a true Nursery Favourite!

To celebrate the end of a fantastic week, each child was awarded a "Star Baker" certificate on Friday to thank them for being such fab bakers throughout the week.

A great end to a special week!

A Quote from Emma (parent of a Pre-School Child) - "My Son was so excited last week.  Each day he came home from Pre-School telling me all about the Baking Activities he had participated in.  It was lovely to see the display in the foyer each day was updated and the Flapjack was yummy!!

A Quote from Rebecca (Head Chef) - "A fun filled week had by all - trying new recipes, talking about the ingredients and where they come from.  The children had a great time!"

Come along and see some of the other lovely activities we have planned for the year and hear about the opportunities we have on offer for your little one.
