Five Currant Buns -Nursery Rhyme Week

'Five currant buns in a baker's shop.
Big and round with a cherry on the top,
Along came a boy with a penny one day,
Bought a currant bun and took it away.

Four currant buns in a baker's shop.

Three currant buns in a baker's shop...

'Two currant buns in a baker's shop...

'One currant buns in a baker's shop....'

The children in the Toddler Room had fun making their own currant buns adding the ingredients to the bowl and mixing them together. They then scooped the mixture into bun cases which they had the judge how much went into each bun case.

Using their own currant buns we set up a bakers shop where the children sang the song and gave their pennies for their bun. The buns were placed into a bag for taking home.
