We would like to introduce you all to our new Busy Bees initiative -

Nurturing Problem Solving to Mathematics.

This exciting new initiative will be used with all ages in the nursery and is designed to support all children to become confident in all aspects of mathematics.

All staff within the rooms will work through various activity cards with the children based around problem solving and mathematics.

The activities are not all about numbers and shapes and we are wanting to get across that maths is not always about 1,2,3.

We have already carried out a couple of the activities which include:

~ building with blocks, looking at how many we need etc.

~ catching rainfall/water - comparing how much everyone caught and leaving containers out overnight to catch any rainfall.

~ building with tubes/passing objects through tubes and using positional language etc.

There is an information board about this initiative in the entrance of nursery for all parents to see!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

LETS MAKE MATHS MAGICAL!
