Phonics Fun

Recently our Pre-school room began to learn about Phonics. Each week the pre-schoolers are given a letter of the week. They can the find objects at home that begin with that letter and bring them in to nursery to show at the phonics group time. Furthermore, they practice pronouncing the letters and their sounds during this group time. In addition to saying the letters they also practice forming the letters in different ways, for example;

The literacy area - This is where the children can use different formation sheets, white boards and also chalk boards to form letters.

Letter Mark making area -  This area is about forming letters in different textures, this creates a fun and exciting way to learn.
