All the children at Busy Bees have been having lot's of fun with their Mathematics development this week by using our Problem Solving To Mathematics initiative.

The under 1's took part in construction. The babies used the large building soft blocks to see what they could do with it whilst the key workers spoke about positional language.

The 1-2's used the puzzles whilst the key workers showed them what they needed to do whilst letting them have a go talking about 'turning the piece around', describing the next piece needed for example 'the piece with a rabbits ear',

The 2-3's completed a number hunt. The key workers hid numbers around the garden and supported the children to go hunting for them and encouraged them to recognise what number they found.

Pre school completed the robot activity. The key worker explained to the children that they were a robot and they needed the children to direct them to different places within the garden. In a robot voice they asked the children how many steps they needed to take, forward, backwards sideways, etc to get to the place. The children then also had a turn at being the robot.
