Setting a time limit to a simple task makes it both, fun and more challenging. Our pre-school children enjoyed the Timing activity, while practising their fine motor skills and logical thinking.

Tanya, our Senior Pre-School Manager asked the children to estimate how many small toys they can move from one bowl to another in one minute. She then used a sand timer to time each and everyone of them as they moved the toys across. Children finished the activity by counting their toys and comparing the results with their original guesses.

This great activity is part of our Problem Solving to Mathematics enhancement, encouraging children to think about the concept of time, understand how speed affects their actions and practise counting.

Book a visit to our nursery and find out how we can support your child in preparation for school or check out our upcoming Stay & Play events, open to children not registered with the nursery.
