Here at Busy Bees Bury St Edmunds, we have ended Enrolment Week with a fantastic day of Special Story Sacks. Each of the rooms within the Nursery have been busy this week creating exciting and engaging story sacks to share with the children, with some fantastic and very imaginative final products. Each of the Story Sacks included a lovely story book and a range of props for the children to explore and use to help tell the story.

Our Bluebell Room (children aged under 1 year) enjoyed the classic tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  The babies were offered a variety of props and resources including bowls of porridge oats and bear puppets to engage with the story.

Our Poppy Room children (aged 12-18months) really enjoyed their story sack of The Three Little Pigs. There were pictures of the characters for the children to look at and hold and also pictures of the houses that each pig made.  The children joined in with 'blowing' the houses down at the appropriate stage of the story line and repeated words.

The children in our Sunflower Room (aged 18-24 months) had great fun using masks to explore the story of The Three Billy Goat Gruff.  The children were really laughing at each wearing the masks.

Our Toddler Children (aged 2-3 years) enjoyed the story of The Hungry Caterpillar.  This Story Sack included many many props for the children to engage with, and promoted development of the days of the week and counting.  The children also engaged in a conversation about healthy eating using the food props.

The Pre-School Children (aged between 3 and 5) acted out their story of We are Going on a Bear Hunt.  Each child was given a role, from the family members, to the bear, to the very important job of sound effects. The children joined in with the familiar phrases from the story and all got very excited when the Bear came out of his cave and chased them home to their bed.

Enrolment Week has been all about bringing stories to life.  Stories are such an important part of a child's learning and promote many areas of development.  Here at Busy Bees Bury St Edmunds, we have had a fantastic week celebrating stories and the children have all had great fun getting involved in the fun activities we have had planned.  We have been able to welcome new faces into our lovely setting and show them around our fantastic facilities, whilst their little ones enjoyed the activities on offer. We thank all those who joined us for the activity sessions.

Keep an eye on our Events page for upcoming activities and please do come and join in the fun here at Busy Bees Bury St Edmunds.
