Roses are England's National Flower and we have been learning about different types of flowers through our interest in planting and growing.
To celebrate the Patron Saint of England children have been learning about British Culture by making scones and creating their own flags and dragons using a variety of art and craft materials. Preschool had the opportunity to learn new adjectives describing the features of their dragons and developed their vocabulary too!
The activities have been linked to the British Values and cover many areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage including Communication and Language, Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding the World.
Staff at our Lewisham nursery have been using the Characteristics of Effective Learning to support the children's engagement and critical thinking to produce their own art work which they have displayed in their gallery in the Preschool room.
