St Patricks Day

St Patrick's Day is a celebration of Irish culture. It remembers St Patrick, one of Ireland's patron saints, who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. Many people mark the day by wearing the national emblem three leafed shamrock and wearing green

Lots of the children dressed up in Green to mark the celebration. The older children made Irish Fags and had discussions during circle time about what St Patrick's Day was, and that their a number of different celebrations that are celebrated throughout the year, and that different countries celebrate different things, and what the meaning of each are. The older children also covered and drew a picture of the three leaf clover.

The younger children took part in green sponge leaf printing.
