Our children at Busy Bees Day Nursery in Rushmere wrapped up warm and had lots of fun playing in the first snow of the year.
For our youngest children in Babies it was the first time that they had ever seen snow falling and watched in amazement as the flakes fell on their fingers and noses. Maxwell had lots of fun running around the garden with his plate trying to catch the snow, shouting "Gone, Gone" as the flakes quickly melted in his hand.
The two to three year olds in our Toddler room made their very own, small, but perfectly formed snowman. Finlay and Declan worked together to help put the eyes on their snowman.
It was snowy science day in Pre-School. Abbi and the children experimented with lots of resources, from flour to orange juice, to see how they could make the snow melt quicker. The children learnt all about how snow is formed and why it melts.
Although the snow melted nearly as quickly as it fell it was day full of learning opportunities for all our children, using all of their senses to explore the world around them and to question how and why things happen and change.
