On Monday 7th August staff from Clare Park and Maidstone Hospital took part in a giant relay to raise funds for Meningitis now children's charity. The Clare Park team left the nursery and began the trek to our Allington nursery in Maidstone, after being welcomed there with fruit snacks and drinks they made their way to the Toad Hall branch of Busy Bees in St Lukes Road, Maidstone, where they refuelled with coffee and chocolates! After a brief stop they continued on their way to our Ragstone House nursery in Maidstone Town Centre and were greeted there by the team and offered the use of their staff room for lunch, before continuing on to Busy Bees at Maidstone Hospital, completing their 13 mile trip!!! Staff from Maidstone Hospital then completed the circuit by walking to our nursery.
Parents and colleagues were invited to sponsor the event through our JustGiving page directly to the charity, and so far we have collected £301. This is in addition to the funds raised by our children in the 'toddle waddle' back in July!
The walk meant that staff had collectively added 155 miles on to the cumulative total walked by Busy Bees nurseries up and down the country, our aim was to 'walk around the world' - 24,901 miles to be exact!
