Toddle Waddle for Meningitis Now
Staff and children at Busy Bees at St Matthews nursery, joined in with all the other nurseries in the Busy Bees group to Toddle Waddle for Meningitis Now!
Our aim was to walk enough steps so that combined we have walked around the world!
Children were invited to wear clothes to represent any country they wanted, i.e red and white for England, green white and orange for Ireland. We had a lot of very colourful outfits!
Here at the Burntwood nursery, we were joined by the Mayoress of Burntwood, Pamela Stokes, Marg Randles - one of the founders of Busy Bees and Steve from Meningitis Now and they all joined us in our first few laps around the garden.
The children's families and friends sponsored the children and all funds raised are to be donated to this worthwhile charity.
Thankfully the weather stayed dry and we even had a little bit of sunshine to help us along the way.
Our nursery staff, children and visitors managed to walk an incredible 20500 steps, and to date we have raised £315 which can be added to the global total!
A big well done to everyone and a massive thank you to all those parents and families who have supported us.
A quick update for everyone - as at 3rd August 2017 our total has risen to £517.00. We are so very grateful to all parents and their families for all of their support.
