To celebrate World Book Day the children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book characters, sharing stories and exploring story sacks such as Handa's Surprise, The Hungry Caterpillar and Aliens Love Underpants!
The children developed their communication and listening, understanding and speaking and Literacy skills for the older preschool children. These skills include following text from left to right, holding books the correct way up and treating them with respect. Children were able to develop social skills by sharing stories in pairs or small groups, mathematical skills by sequencing events and physical skills by turning pages in books.
We had a visit from Mark the librarian too!
