World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.
The children celebrated world book day by dressing up as their favourite characters. Some children also brought in the book and we shared this at circle time. The children enjoyed role playing as their favourite character and talking about what the other children were also dressed up as. Lots of stories were read throughout the day and the older children even made up their own stories!
