We have gone football mad with a week full of fun world cup themed activities!
We started off the week with our very own penalty shootout in the front entrance decorated with around the world country flags, artificial grass and a home made goal. We saw how our parents, staff and children handled the pressure of being at the spot, with stickers up for grabs.
Babies enjoyed exploring different types of balls in their ball pit, their favourite ones where the green spikey ones that lit up when they hit the floor, exploring balls in paint and decorating their room with different flags and decorations.
Toddlers were in their element with this theme. Activities included created their very own miniature football table in their tuff spot. Splitting into teams and using their thumb and forefinger to flick the ball and try and get into the other teams goal. It got very loud as they shouted "GOAL" every time they scored. Also, they planned their very own team line up, like a football manager would do before a big game. Using Their footprints to create the people and placing them on the field. This is on Display in our Toddler unit.
Preschool took part in a football shirt number match game, and participated in their very own football match in the garden, learning about ball control, target practice and passing to other players.
All this Fun made the Children of Busy Bees very hungry, which is why Claire created a around the world menu for the week. Celebrating all the foods that are eaten around the world. Not only was the food yummy, but she delivered in style by decorating not only herself but her trolley as well. What do you think of her flags?
