I joined the company back in February 2005 as an administrator with my childcare qualifications already being achieved, within a year a position of Deputy manager became available and due to the qualification and knowledge I had I applied for the position. I was successful and continued with the post.
I held the position for 7 years and during this time I covered Maternity for the Manager. I am a person who always likes to learn new things, so I was really pleased to hear that I would be able to carry out a level 4 qualification in the foundation of early years. Whilst doing this course I also applied for the NVQ in management level 3, as I knew this would support me with my current role and help towards gaining knowledge to progress onto become a manager myself one day. So before completing my level 4 I also started a qualification for my Level 3 management.
I found both courses very rewarding and a great help to my role within the setting. I gained hands on knowledge that I still use to this day. I have now been a Manager of Welwyn Garden City since 2012 and thoroughly enjoy it. I am now taking part in my Level 5 NVQ in management, which is also proving to be very interesting and supportive to my role. I am always interested in additional learning opportunities and feel that the Busy Bees training department offers great opportunities for their employees.
My long term goals would be to progress within the company and become a Regional Director.
