Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my child has symptoms or there’s a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19 at my child’s nursery?

We will notify you if your child is identified as a close contact to another person that has tested positive for Covid-19. However, the action you need to take as a result of the contact does differ between countries as explained below:

England

If your child begins to display any symptoms of Covid-19 you will be contacted to immediately collect your child and arrange for a PCR test to be completed. All household contacts are also recommended to PCR test but they do not need to isolate whilst waiting for the results.

Wales

As of early October the Care Inspectorate Wales no longer recommends that children under 5 with COVID-19 symptoms undertake a test unless directed to do so by a doctor or if parents believe a test is absolutely necessary and in the best interests of the child. However, in line with Busy Bees sick child policy you will be asked to keep your child at home until symptoms have resolved and they are well.

Scotland

If your child begins to display any symptoms of Covid-19 you will be contacted to immediately collect your child and arrange for a PCR test. If you are a close contact, you should book a test as soon as possible and self-isolate while waiting for the results.
