Why You Will Love Our Nursery

Busy Bees Children's Day Nursery Chorley Hospital, was registered in 2003 and is a safe and secure purpose built building on the grounds of the Chorley and Ribble District Hospital, for hospital staff and general public. Chorley NHS provides all nappies, wipes, food and snack at no additional costs.

Our nursery has 4 different base rooms and an outdoor play area where we offer a balance of care and education. The nursery is registered for a maximum of 60 children on the Early Years Register and provides funded early education for three to four year olds. Our last Ofsted inspection was June 2011 where we achieved a Good rating.

We provide a warm and friendly environment for the children to feel safe and secure when they are away from their parents and carers, with a wide range of appropriate learning materials, toys and activities that have been carefully chosen to be suitable for the children’s age range and stage of development. These materials, toys and activities can be used indoors and outdoors appropriately to continue with their learning. Feedback to the parents and carers will be given at the end of the session explaining about their day and special moments. Your child will be assigned to a key person in their room and are there for you to speak to and are also there for your child’s learning and development that is to be enhanced through the Early Years Foundation stages.

Each child has a learning Journal which goes through the setting with them, with this we use the Early Years Foundation Stage to observe and evaluate your child’s individual developmental needs.

Home observation forms are regularly sent home to make sure that we have up to date information on your child's interests.

We have an excellent, experienced, hardworking and caring staff team that are qualified to level 2 and Level 3 in childcare and staff that are working towards there NVQ level 3 with our skilled in house training team and with our Head Office team who can also keep us updated and refresh our training skills when needed. We also had additional staff roles of Health and Safety co-ordinators, Senco, Training Mentor and Safeguarding Officers.

The nursery Chefs, Rebecca and Naomi are committed to providing nutritious and healthy meals for the children, using fresh ingredients which are locally sourced. The nursery has achieved the highest possible rating for Food Hygiene being awarded 5 out of 5 stars by Lancashire County Council. The nursery menus offer a varied range of foods and any special dietary requirements can be catered for by our catering team.

We are also working on individual initiatives with the Busy Bees company with a variety of fun activities like Wake and Shake with the over two’s children, Cooking with Me with the pre-school children, Shake and Write with the pre-school children – developing writing skills and we are also supporting the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust and getting active with the children taking part in the Golden mile challenge.

Watch out for our new Babble to Chatter initiative which has been endorsed by Elizabeth Jarmin – Communication Friendly Spaces.

We also have additional lessons for the children to enjoy,we have Ballet on a Thursday morning, Little Stars Drama on Friday morning and Mini Melodies on a Monday morning. The nursery is also offering lessons in German, lots of extra activities for your little ones to enjoy!
