At Busy Bees Leeds, Colton Mill we offer a wide range of exciting activities and fantastic learning resources so that every child can learn and develop whilst having fun during their stay at nursery.  

With bright and welcoming rooms, filled with excitement and laughter, there are endless opportunities for your child to explore their imagination. The fun doesn’t stop indoors with our large, enclosed garden area available for all children to enjoy the fresh air and learn about taking safe risks under adult supervision.  

We understand that every child develops at their own pace, which is why each of the rooms are tailored to suit each age group, along with a separate sleeping and dining area for the littlest ones.  

So, whether they enjoy discovering their inner Picasso getting creative, developing their physical skills in our yoga room, or exploring the secure outdoor area, rest assured there is something for every child to enjoy. 

Our highly experienced team strive to provide the best possible care, to ensure that every child is supported, safe and well looked after during their stay. With an onsite training room, we encourage staff development to ensure we offer every child the best start in life. 

Not only do the enthusiastic team supply children with brilliant opportunities to play, learn and develop, but Busy Bees also provide you with the opportunity to continue the fun at home with the UP – Unleashing Potential app.

Smart Board
Our Interactive Smart Board is used daily to bring learning to life and provides children with a hands-on approach with technology.

Funded Childcare
We offer government funded places for children aged 3 to 4 years, please speak to the Centre Director for more information.

Teacher
We have a fully qualified Teacher in our pre-school room who delivers exciting learning opportunities, whilst ensuring statutory and legal welfare requirements are met for every child.

Foundation Class
The foundation class nurtures each child's natural curiosity within a structured framework providing pre-school children with an early introduction to school life.

ParentZone
We keep families informed through ParentZone, an online learning journal platform, which can be accessed via a smartphone app.

UP
Exclusive to Busy Bees, UP is a learning and development app used by educators in our nursery and parents at home. Search ‘UP by Busy Bees’ on the app store to find out more.

We offer online booking for extra ad-hoc sessions at this nursery with Pebble.

Food at Busy Bees at Colton Mill

We know just how important it is for little ones to get the nutrition they need. That is why we provide delicious food and drink packed with goodness throughout your child's day with us. We have carefully created menus that put new twists on childhood favourites and encourage healthy eating.  

Accredited by NHS Startwell, our menus change seasonally, so there are plenty of opportunities to try something new.  

All meals, snacks and drinks are freshly prepared, on-site, each day, by our talented nursery chef. And want to know the very best bit? It is all included in your fees - so, there is no extra cost involved. Get a taster of what your child might get to enjoy on a typical day at our Colton Mill nursery.  

Breakfast 

Fresh fruit with a selection of cereal or porridge.  

Morning Snack 

Fresh fruit with wholemeal toast or baked goods, served with a cup of milk or water. 

Lunch 

Chicken Pasta or Blackeye beans and vegetable pasta with green beans. Served with a cup of water.  

Afternoon Snack 

Fresh fruit or vegetable sticks served with a cup of milk or water. 

Early Evening Snack 

Homemade baked beans on toast, followed by rice pudding with date and apple sauce for dessert.

Preparing for School

In order to best prepare the children for the next big chapter of their lives, Busy Bees do all that they can to support and celebrate the transition. All of the planned activities and experiences which take place within our Busy Bees Nursery in Leeds are designed to provide a foundation of skills that will help them grow in becoming confident and capable learners.

Busy Bees Nursery Leeds Location

Located just off the M1 at Junction 46 you will find our Leeds, Colton Mill nursery on Stile Hill Way.  

With Leed’s City Centre just a 20-minute drive away, we are in the perfect location for commuting parents, with safe and secure onsite parent and child parking available to make pick-ups and drop-offs as seamless as possible. 

For those visiting us by public transport, there is a bus stop nearby on Stile Hill Way, served by bus routes, 19, 19A and 22.  

Arriving on foot? Be rest assured there is a buggy store available for you to safely secure buggies or pushchairs during your child's stay at nursery.

"Staff are brilliant with children. They recognise areas that children need to work on and embed this into their planning. Frequent communication is fantastic, both on the door and via phone call when there is a concern. Only concern we can think of is the recent problems with the paying system where invoices have not been sent to us without us needing to email the main office. "
