Nestled within Watford General Hospital, our Busy Bees centre is a fantastic environment that offers care and support to children - from babies through to pre-schoolers.  

From cosy reading corners with plush cushions, full of exciting stories to explore, to interactive role-play areas, perfect for children to unleash their imagination -, there is a huge array of resources and activities to explore.  

At our Busy Bees nursery, we understand that convenience is key when looking for childcare in Watford, particularly for busy parents working within the hospital or nearby. For this reason, we include within your fees; formula milk, nappies, and wipes (if required), as well as all meals and snacks, to keep little tummies full and happy. 

Our friendly and supportive nursery team do everything to provide your child with the utmost care and attention, ensuring they continue to hit milestones, grow physically and develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum.

Our outdoor environment offers space to explore and take safe risks with the support of our team, aiding child development.

Sensory Room
Our Sensory Room is a relaxing space providing a unique sensory experience with activities and equipment to explore, engaging and stimulating children’s senses.

Parent Room
Our parent room is a dedicated safe space for us to get to know your family and you to speak in confidence with our nursery team about your child's nursery life.

Smart Board
Our Interactive Smart Board is used daily to bring learning to life and provides children with a hands-on approach with technology.

Funded Childcare
We offer government funded places for children aged 3 to 4 years, please speak to the Centre Director for more information.

Teacher
We have a fully qualified Teacher in our pre-school room who delivers exciting learning opportunities, whilst ensuring statutory and legal welfare requirements are met for every child.

Foundation Class
The foundation class nurtures each child's natural curiosity within a structured framework providing pre-school children with an early introduction to school life.

ParentZone
We keep families informed through ParentZone, an online learning journal platform, which can be accessed via a smartphone app.

UP
Exclusive to Busy Bees, UP is a learning and development app used by educators in our nursery and parents at home. Search ‘UP by Busy Bees’ on the app store to find out more.

Book Extra Sessions Online
We offer online booking for extra ad-hoc sessions at this nursery with Pebble.

Food at Busy Bees Nursery at Watford Hospital

We like to keep things simple for parents, which is why we include all meals, drinks, and snacks within the fees you pay.  

Making sure children have the right foods and drinks, to promote healthy growth and development, is just one of the reasons we provide varied, nutritious meals each day.  

All food and drink is prepared on-site at our Watford nursery, in line with the NHS -Startwell programme, so you can be sure your child is enjoying healthy, fresh food while with us for the day.  

Get a taste of what your child might enjoy while at our nursery in Watford hospital: 

Breakfast 

Fresh fruit with a selection of cereal or porridge.  

Morning Snack  

Fresh fruit with wholemeal toast or baked goods, with a cup of milk or water. 

Lunch  

Tuna pasta bake or mixed bean and vegetable pasta bake with peas and sweetcorn, followed by fresh fruit with a cup of water.  

Afternoon Snack  

Fresh fruit or vegetable sticks with a cup of milk or water. 

Early Evening Snack 

Herby mixed potato wedges and roasted red peppers with ranch dip followed by apple and sultanas, with a cup of water.

Our Fees

We believe in an open and transparent approach to nursery fees. Click the button below for weekly, daily, and session rates for our exceptional childcare.

Did you know Busy Bees also offers government-funded childcare? If eligible, you could be entitled to up to 570 or 1140 hours of funded childcare, depending on your child's age, each year for your child. Find out more on our 'Funding Options' page. Preparing for School

In order to best prepare the children for the next big chapter of their lives, Busy Bees do all that they can to support and celebrate the transition. All of the planned activities and experiences which take place within our Busy Bees Nursery in Watford are designed to provide a foundation of skills that will help them grow in becoming confident and capable learners.

Busy Bees Nursery Watford Location

Located within the grounds of Watford General Hospital, our Busy Bees Watford nursery is a convenient option for on-the-go parents working in the hospital or in neighbouring areas.  

We are easily accessible via public transport, with multiple bus stops located a stone’s throw from the hospital itself.  

There is parking on-site, however, this is hospital-owned, rather than privately owned by Busy Bees, so please bear this in mind and pay within the hospital.  

For parents arriving on foot or via public transport, we have a handy buggy storage area so that strollers and pushchairs can be safely stored while your child is with us for the day, ready for collection at the end of the day.
