Parent Testimonials

"We would like to express our thanks to everyone. Thomas has had a fantastic time and received an excellent standard of care… The nursery has a real family atmosphere, and I know that Thomas and ourselves will be sad to say good bye to everyone….. Words can not do justice to the work that you all do, We would have no hesitation in recommending you to others who are looking for childcare.... We can confidently say that Thomas has gained far more by being at nursery, which has enabled him to develop as an individual in his own right" Mr and Mrs Fowler

"Thank you for looking after me over the past two years. I have really enjoyed my time at nursery, we have had some fun times together. I have learnt lots of new things that have given me a good start in life to my schooling. Thank you to Rob for cooking me delicious meals especially your cakes. I will miss you all lots but I will come back again to visit you. Lots of Love Chloe"

"Many thanks for your hard and dedicated care for my children and especially for my daughter Isabelle Green. She is always happy being with you and this is the biggest reassurance for a parent." J Green

Quality Childcare

Providing high standard, high quality childcare is of utmost importance to us and we want your child to enjoy their time at our nursery. Each child is treated as an individual and we strive to ensure that each child's social, physical and emotional needs are met.

At Busy Bees at Derby Heatherton some of our unique objectives to providing high quality childcare include...

Ofsted

Busy Bees at Derby Heatherton is regulated and inspected under the Children's Act by Ofsted and receives inspections and visits to ensure that our practices and procedures are in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) welfare requirements.

Latest inspection date: 10/01/2008

Here are some of the comments from our latest Ofsted report: -

"Children are engaged in a variety of healthy exercise both inside and outside. A 'free flow' system enables children to play outdoors when they choose and many of the activities taking place inside are replicated outside."

"Children are given time to settle in to their environment and staff are sensitive to individual children's needs recognising that some children take longer to settle than others. Staff liaise closely with parents to help with the process and offer support."

"Children are greeted by friendly welcoming staff who ensure that children settle into the daily routines. The quality of staff's interactions with children are good and they continually extend and consolidate children's knowledge and understanding through appropriate questioning."

Food for Thought

At Busy Bees at Derby Heatherton we make mealtimes happy social occasions, where skills can be developed and new foods tasted.

We are dedicated to providing your children with fresh, well-balanced meals every day; that not only taste great, but that also provide lots of nourishment.

Phil VickeryTo ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

Each meal is carefully planned to meet each child's individual needs and to cater for any special dietary requirements.

  • All of our meals are freshly prepared each day on site by our qualified Nursery Cook
  • We offer a full stage weaning menu for our youngest children
  • The children take part in regular food related activities held by our Nursery Cook
  • All dietary requirements are catered for, including those related to religion, allergy or health
  • In January we received a very good report from the Environmental Health Office highlighting a high standard of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness at our nursery
