Busy Bees childrens nursery at Derby Heatherton is a large, purpose built, single storey nursery close the A50, A38, Derby Hospitals and Derby City Centre with regular bus service opposite the nursery.

We provide a variety of interesting and stimulating activities for children to enjoy including Yoga Bugs (for 2 to 5 year olds), French lessons (for 3 to 5 year olds), Kindermusik to encourage your child's hidden musical talents (this is available at an additional cost), Cooking with Me and Wake and Shake to get everyone moving and singing. We also offer a Hairdressing service at an additional cost.

Whilst at nursery the children enjoy delicious home cooked food which is nutritionally balanced and healthy. We have a four week rolling menu which takes advantage of fresh, seasonal produce and allows our children to experience a wide variety of tastes, textures, flavours and colours within their meal. We are also fully equipped to provide food for children with allergies or intolerances as well as cultural preferences and we will always provide a vegetarian option to meat dishes.

Our staff hold qualifications ranging from NVQ Level 2 to more recently BA (Hons) Degrees in Early Childhood Studies and the Early Years Practitioner (EYP) status. We are dedicated to providing learning opportunities for staff in a wide variety of areas. We have a long serving and dedicated staff team who understand the importance of creating a warm, welcoming ‘home from home’ for all of the children in our care.

We have good communication and relationships with the parents and families of the children in our care.

We provide daily feedback, progress reports, learning journeys and regular parents’ evenings. We always have an open door policy and welcome feedback from our parents.

We have been awarded the Busy Bees' Quality Award for Safety and have a dedicated Health and Safety Team.

I have worked within the area of childcare provision for over 30 years. I have worked within the Busy Bees Group since 1999 and I have been the Manager at Derby Heatherton since 2006.

I have a NNEB qualification, ILM (First Line Management) Level 3, Level 3 award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering and BSC Level 1 in Health and Safety. I have been approved as a Suitable Person by Ofsted and I have First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid qualifications.

I am dedicated to our nursery and take pride in being able to offer high standards of care to the families who choose to use our setting. I am always available to speak to about the nursery and enjoy having a good relationship with our children and their families.
