Why choose Busy Bees at Hammersmith: -
Busy Bees day nursery in Hammersmith is based in the heart of Hammersmith. Located close to the tube and bus station and ideally located in the close vicinity of the transport links to London.
Our nursery is a home from home environment that is warm and welcoming to all our children and parents.
Our nursery is designed to give our children the best experiences by providing a wide variety of equipment and activities. The rooms are all bright and airy.
The baby room provides a soothing lilac area and a black and white area that helps babies brain development. The 1-2’s room challenges the children with climbing equipment, plenty of creative activities and a relaxing story area. The 2-5’s area is a free flowing area that is created to encourage children to move from one area to another. The children also enjoy a wide variety of activities including baking, French, sports, Wake and Shake, Kinder Musik and much more.
We have introduced 2 new initiatives to our nursery. Our first is called the 3 C’s. This stands for our comfort boxes, calming boxes and chatter boxes. Our calming boxes are for our 3 months-1 years, these are some of their favourite comforts from home that they can bring in their box to help settle them if they are feeling anxious. Our 1-2’s have calming boxes, again where they share with their friends they’re favourite objects which is great for calming them and learning the concept of sharing.
The chatter boxes are for the over 2’s years, they love sharing all their favourite toys from home with their friends and this aids good communication and language skills.
Our very new initiative is called activity boxes. These are different boxes with a range of equipment which link in with the children’s interests that they can take home. There is a guide inside about how it links in with the EYFS and then a short activity the parents can do with their child at home. It is a great way that parents can support the nursery with their children’s learning and development.
Our staff team are warm and friendly with caring natures and are qualified from degree level to level 2. Some of our staff team have worked for the nursery since it opened 8 years ago.
Our chef Diane has cooked for the nursery for many years. She provides a healthy, well balanced menu. Diane has just received 5 star rating for food hygiene from the environmental health. We always support children with dietary requirements.
We have good links with the Hammersmith and Fulham borough, they provide some training for the nursery. We are also well known in the community and the nursery reflects the cultural diversity of the community.
We provide a parent partnership group that meets every quarter. Parents are able to be involved in fundraising for our charity or provide support to new parents. We are always welcoming new parents to join.

Hello, my name Shirley Ballin. I have been working in childcare since 1976 when I gained my NNEB.
My experience within childcare is diverse, from working for social services and a variety of different organisations. I joined Busy Bees Hammersmith in April 2009.
I am a qualified nursery nurse, first aider, health and safety coordinator and have a food hygiene qualification.
My recent training was completing the Leadership and Capability programme with Coventry University.
I am a mother of 3 and a grandmother of 1. My grandson has attended the nursery since he was one.The team worked hard and supported my grandson and daughter to cope with the separation. He is now excited to attend nursery and enjoys the stimulating and caring environment.
The team and myself are very committed practitioners and help to provide a caring, friendly, positive environment where we meet children’s needs.
Please come along and see what we have to offer. We would love to meet you
