About Us

Busy Bees Day Nursery in Harlow is a purpose built, single storey nursery, designed specifically with children in mind.

The nursery has individual play areas for each age group with large, secure outdoor garden areas.

Located close to the two local train stations in Harlow, the nursery is ideally located for parents in Harlow.

Meet the Manager

Busy Bees at Harlow is managed jointly by two managers; Kim Shinn and Louise Christie.

Kim has been employed with Busy Bees since 1996 and has gained her NNEB and D32/33/34 qualifications. Kim has worked in childcare under taking various positions I.E. Nursery Nurse to an Assessor since qualifing 1990.

Louise Christie has been employed with Busy Bees since 1996 and has got her NVQ L3 A1. Louise has worked at Harlow since finishing school, working from an apprenticeship to her current position.

Busy Bees in Harlow is regulated and inspected under the Children's Act by Ofsted and receives inspections and visits to ensure that our practices and procedures are in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) welfare requirements.

The children will be having a great time as they read the stories, act out scenes from the books and make some lovely craft activities, including making their own ice cream.

At Busy Bees in Harlow we make mealtimes happy social occasions, where skills can be developed and new foods tasted.

We are dedicated to providing your children with fresh, well-balanced meals every day; that not only taste great, but that also provide lots of nourishment.

Phil VickeryTo ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

Each meal is carefully planned to meet each child's individual needs and to cater for any special dietary requirements.

Meet Our Catering Team

Vicki Clift, Catering Manager, joined the nursery in 1998, holding a 7061/2 qualification.

Vicki has attended Intermediate food Hygiene, 1st aid training, baby nutrition, and allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness courses. She is assisted in the nursery by Carley Barrow, Catering Assistant.
