Hello there,

My Name is Lorna Peynado & I have been the Manager here since 2004!
I have worked in childcare since I qualified at 18 (with a brief diversion into retail for a couple of years early on)
Apart from nurseries (where I have worked in all age ranges between 3months & 5yrs) I have worked in School’s, Pre-school’s, After school clubs & Holiday play schemes as well.

I also have 2 grown up daughters of my own and have gained a broad breadth of experience as a result of this varied mix.
I hold the NNEB certificate and also keep up to date with current training with our own head office and the local authority. I am “Paediatric first aid” trained (for the children) as well as “First Aid at work” trained (for adults)
I have also passed the British Safety Council’s level 1 exam as well as Intermediate Food Hygiene (level 3)
I am the safeguarding officer for the nursery and as such, I have also passed the Local Authority “Safer recruiting” course.

Our Team is mostly made up of long standing, qualified, experienced members of staff who strive to deliver the best standards in childcare. Lots of staff have had their maternity leave and returned, bringing their own children here as well.
I really enjoy the relations that I have with those that attend the nursery including the children, siblings, parents & their extended families and I have been here so long, I am part of the team that have cared for many children from the same family.

In my own time, I enjoy travelling and visiting new places to see what they have to offer.
I would choose a Busy Bees (and especially this one) as we are part of a large chain with all the positives that this entails eg, Knowledgeable H&S staff, Nutritionists who design our seasonal menu’s, the Estates team to report any Maintenance or repair issues to, our Early Years Foundation Stage advisory team(EYFS), the initiatives that we have here (ours include, Busy Babies, Imagination Station, Cooking with Me, Wake and Shake) and the children have so much fun as they learn here.
