Set your child up with a great start in life. Busy Bees provides high-quality childcare in Portishead for babies, toddlers, and pre-school-age children. 

Conveniently located just a short drive from the town centre, our nursery features multiple childcare rooms. This gives children at different stages in their development the opportunity to be around others at a similar point in their journey and allows them to thrive, grow and learn about the world around them at a pace they're comfortable with. 

We believe in making learning fun. Each of our rooms features educational toys and activities that keep them engaged throughout the day - always following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Role play toys and costumes allow them to explore their imaginations, while the indoor sandpit allows them to test their fine motor skills. Whatever your child enjoys, there's something for them at our Busy Bees nursery in Portishead! 

Whenever possible, we like to take fun outdoors too. Our secure outdoor space lets the kids get out in the fresh air and be active. The climbing frame and tunnels allow them to get used to taking safe risks - while supervised by our nursery staff. Meanwhile, picnic benches provide the perfect setting for those quieter times.

Our Interactive Smart Board is used daily to bring learning to life and provides children with a hands-on approach with technology.

Funded Childcare
We offer government funded places for children aged 3 to 4 years, please speak to the Centre Director for more information.

Teacher
We have a fully qualified Teacher in our pre-school room who delivers exciting learning opportunities, whilst ensuring statutory and legal welfare requirements are met for every child.

Foundation Class
The foundation class nurtures each child's natural curiosity within a structured framework providing pre-school children with an early introduction to school life.

ParentZone
We keep families informed through ParentZone, an online learning journal platform, which can be accessed via a smartphone app.

UP

Food at Busy Bees in Portishead

Here, at our Busy Bees Portishead nursery, we'll provide your child with regular snacks, drinks, and meals throughout the time they spend with us. There's no extra cost involved - it's all included in your fees. 

We know how challenging it can sometimes be to get little ones to eat healthy foods and try new dishes. Our team has worked hard to create recipes and menus to give your children all the nutrition they need to grow. This NHS Startwell-accredited menu provides plenty of variety and lots of delicious dishes for kids to enjoy. 

All food and drink is freshly prepared for the children each day by our on-site nursery chef. Does your child have allergies or specific dietary requirements? There's no need to worry - we can account for any needs. Simply speak to your Centre Director.

Breakfast

Fresh fruit with a selection of cereal or porridge. 

Morning Snack

Fresh fruit with wholemeal toast or baked goods. Served with a cup of milk or water. 

Lunch

Vegetable nuggets with root vegetable mash and reduced salt and sugar baked beans. Peaches with a mixed berry sauce for dessert. Served with a cup of water. 

Afternoon Snack

Fresh fruit or vegetable sticks. Served with a cup of milk or water. 

Early Evening Snack

Vegetable sticks to start, with a hummus and cucumber or cheese savoury sandwiches. Served with a cup of water.

Preparing for School

In order to best prepare the children for the next big chapter of their lives, Busy Bees do all that they can to support and celebrate the transition. All of the planned activities and experiences which take place within our Busy Bees Nursery in Portishead are designed to provide a foundation of skills that will help them grow in becoming confident and capable learners.

You'll find us located on Serbert Road, which is about a 10-minute walk away from the centre of town. 

If you're visiting us by car, you'll see we have our own dedicated car parking, with plenty of spaces for parents to safely pick up and drop off children - away from busy roads. We can also be reached by public transport. The Serbert Way bus stop is just a short walk away - it's served by 57, 59, X4 Excel and X5 Excel buses.
