TLC Day Nursery at Watford Hospital is located within the hospital grounds and is open to both NHS trust employees and the general public.
The Nursery is a 46 place nursery with three individual base rooms that are bright and welcoming to each age group. The nursery has a large, secure outdoor play area that is accessible from each of the indoor base rooms.
Denise Tomlinson has been in the childcare industry since 1980 and a nursery manager since 1990, having worked for TLC from 2005 onwards.
Denise is currently studying at the University of Hertfordshire for a Foundation degree in Early Years.
Denise says "I am a committed Early Years practitioner and enjoy my job as much as I did when I first started in the profession."
"Our son Mikey has attended the nursery at Watford for the last 3 years and I can not express in words how happy we have been with the quality of care our son has received. From the warm morning welcome to the end of day honest feedback regarding Mikeys day whether good or bad.Only recently Mikey told his teacher that he has been having nightmares about pirates so the teacher decided to base that days activities on pirates including paintings drawings ect. This is one of the many creative and caring examples that make this nursery excell from the rest. Thank you again Mikey will miss you all very much. "

To ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.
Each meal is carefully planned to meet each child's individual needs and to cater for any special dietary requirements.
The Chef at Watford General Hospital is Nizar Hamed who has been working at this nursery since March 2009.
Nizar is a Qualified chef and has over 10 years experience within the catering field.
