Busy Bees at Nottingham City Hospital is a purpose built, single story nursery on the site of Nottingham City Hospital. The nursery is easily accessible from both Nottingham and the M1, and is on the main bus route to and from the City Centre, there is also a free Medi-link bus from QMC Hospital to Nottingham City Hospital campus.

Our nursery Chef, Sophie and Assistant Adrian, are committed to providing nutritious and healthy meals for the children, using fresh ingredients which are locally sourced. The nursery has achieved the highest possible rating for Food Hygiene being awarded 5 out of 5 stars by Nottingham City Council. The nursery menus offer a varied range of foods and any dietary requirements can be catered for by our experienced catering team.

We are dedicated to ensuring that the children have an enjoyable time while at the nursery and that their needs and interests are met through fun and enjoyable play. Daily feedback is given at the end of each session through baby diaries for the younger children and the older children are encouraged to share their experiences of the day with their key person along with their parent/carer. Your child would be assigned a key person and they would be responsible for ensuring your child’s learning and development is enhanced through the Early Years Foundation stage and their developmental progress is communicated during parent’s evenings. The children are able to take part in a variety of fun and exciting activities which include Music which is in association with ABC music and me, Wake and Shake, Cooking with me, Imagination station, contemporary dance sessions and football skills for Pre-school children.

Our nursery has 6 spacious rooms which are bright and welcoming. We also have individual gardens suited to the age range of the children; all gardens have soft surfaced flooring and fencing around to enable a safe and secure environment with lots of interesting activities to stimulate and challenge children’s learning and development.

We also have a parent partnership group which allows us to work in partnership with our parents and allows for on-going improvements and developments within the nursery. The meetings take place periodically and this allows members of the group to put forward their own and also parent’s views and suggestions. 

Parents who work in the hospital are entitled to a special 'Trust Rate' for their childcare, please ask at the nursery for further information.

We also provide Holiday Club facilities for children up to 12 years old in our 'Hive' room. Please see our ‘What’s on Guide’ for upcoming activities and events during the school holidays.

The Hive Holiday Club

We provide Holiday Club facilities for children up to 12 years old in our 'Hive' room.
 

We have a large room and a newly built outdoor area.

• Musical keyboard
• Trips out include: Bowling, Local park, Twinlakes, Conkers and other local activities
