About Us

Busy Bees at Nottingham City Hospital is situated in the grounds of Nottingham City Hospital in Nottingham, approximately 2-3 miles from the City Centre.

The nursery is purpose built to the highest specifications for child-centred activities and offers quality care from the age of six weeks to 11 years.

Parents who work in the hospital are entitled to a special 'Trust Rate' for their childcare, please ask at the nursery for further information.

In April 2009, the nursery achieved OUTSTANDING IN ALL AREAS of their ofsted report.

Meet the Manager

Lisa Charlesworth has been managing Busy Bees at Nottingham City Hospital since 2003, she is married and has a little boy of her own, Harry.

Lisa has many years experience in managing nurseries, qualifying in 1997 as a nursery nurse before working her way to her current role.

Lisa says "I manage a team of 48 staff alongside Anna Allen who is my assistant manager, ensuring that all children and parents needs are meet. We are extremely pleased with our recent OFSTED outcome of Outstanding and continually strive to exceed expectations in childcare, education and professional development."

Busy Bees at Nottingham City Hospital is regulated and inspected under the Children's Act by Ofsted and receives inspections and visits to ensure that our practices and procedures are in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) welfare requirements.

At Busy Bees at Nottingham City Hospital we make mealtimes happy social occasions, where skills can be developed and new foods tasted.

We are dedicated to providing your children with fresh, well-balanced meals every day; that not only taste great, but that also provide lots of nourishment.

Phil VickeryTo ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

Meet Our Catering Team

Our cook Sophie has been with the Busy Bee team since 2006, along with Adrian our Chef Assistant. She has recently been promoted to Cook from catering assistant.

The Catering team ensure the children receive a fresh balanced menu on a daily basis taking into account individual needs.
