Quality Childcare

Providing high standard, high quality childcare is of utmost importance to us and we want your child to enjoy their time at our nursery. Each child is treated as an individual and we strive to ensure that each child's social, physical and emotional needs are met.

At Busy Bees at Rothamsted Lodge some of our unique objectives to providing high quality childcare include...

  • To provide a safe, secure, fun and stimulating environment ensuring that the development and individual needs of each child are met
  • To work in partnership with parents/carers to enable us to provide the best care and learning environment possible and plan and provide for children's individual interests
  • To develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of the staff team through internal and external training. In return, this enables staff to support and extend children's learning and development

Ofsted

Busy Bees at Rothamsted Lodge is regulated and inspected under the Children's Act by Ofsted and receives inspections and visits to ensure that our practices and procedures are in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) welfare requirements.

Here are some of the comments from our latest Ofsted report: -

"Children react with wonder in the sensory room. Twinkling lights on the ceiling, mirrors and musical toys provoke interest and stimulate the senses"

"Young children explore the texture of cornflour, ice and the feel of paint on their feet during messy play activities. Children squeal with delight as paint is squirted into trays ready for a painting activity and are mesmerised when watching others blow bubbles into paint"

"Children are confident and happy. They receive lots of praise and encouragement from staff to develop their self esteem"

Healthy Eating

Food for Thought

At Busy Bees at Rothamsted Lodge we make mealtimes happy social occasions, where skills can be developed and new foods tasted.

We are dedicated to providing your children with fresh, well-balanced meals every day; that not only taste great, but that also provide lots of nourishment.

Phil VickeryTo ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

[Click Here] to download a sample nursery menu and see some of the tasty dishes being served in our nurseries.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

Each meal is carefully planned to meet each child's individual needs and to cater for any special dietary requirements.

  • We provide each child with a healthy, balanced and varied diet
  • Staff work closely with parents to ensure all individual dietary requirements are met
  • We encourage children to take part in regular cooking activities and the growing of vegetables and herbs in the outside garden area
