About Us

Leapfrog Day Nursery in Thurrock is a purpose built, two storey nursery with individual play areas for each age group.

Each play area is fully equipped with age appropriate equipment and facilities, including free flow in to the nursery's secure garden area.

 

Meet the Manager

Nursery Manager, Laura Lindsay, is an NNEB qualified Nursery Manager, which she gained in 2004.

Laura started working in childcare as a nursery nurse at Thurrock nursery and worked her way up to her current role of Nursery Manager.

"Children stay healthy because staff follow sound procedures which meet the children's physical, nutritional and health needs. Drinking water is available throughout the day to ensure the children do not become dehydrated."

"Mealtimes are calm and happy social occasions. Babies are seated where they can see each other, older children gain independence through making choices about their food and serving their own meals."

"A range of out door apparatus is provided so that children can practice and refine their skills when climbing and balancing. They run and move confidently in outdoor activities and games."

At Busy Bees in Thurrock we make mealtimes happy social occasions, where skills can be developed and new foods tasted.

We are dedicated to providing your children with fresh, well-balanced meals every day; that not only taste great, but that also provide lots of nourishment.

Phil VickeryTo ensure we are providing well balanced, nutritious meals to our children, the Busy Bees catering team worked alongside Michelin-starred chef, Phil Vickery, and a child nutritionist to create a brand new range of delicious recipes to use, as part of the nurseries' day to day menus.

Our nursery has a fully equipped kitchen where all meals are prepared and cooked using only the freshest produce - including fresh fruit and vegetables every day.

Each meal is carefully planned to meet each child's individual needs and to cater for any special dietary requirements.

  • Healthy eating has always been our priority and our menus are based on a balanced healthy diet
  • Leapfrog has a modern fully equipped kitchen on site which Environmental Health passed with a 5 star award
  • Meals are freshly prepared onsite
  • We use only fresh ingredients and our produce is sourced from a reputable local supplier

Meet Our Catering Team

Nursery Cook, Denise Ryan, has worked at the nursery since 2000. Denise has 15 years catering experience and a NVQ level 3 in Cooking.

Denise enjoys all aspects of cooking and is always available to speak with parents to discuss dietary or religious beliefs with regards to the menu on offer to the children.
