 - Centre Director

Director

Lisa Stevens

My name is Lisa Stevens and I am the Centre Director at Stevenage Great Ashby Nursery.

I have worked for Busy Bees for over 25 years resulting in a wealth of knowledge and childcare experience.

I have a range of qualifications and experience from completing my NNEB in 1992 and NVQ level 3 in 1998. More recently I gained a certificate in Leadership and Management.

Over the years I have attended many courses and taken part in additional training to ensure my knowledge is up tp date with the current standards. This includes a Level 3 certificate in food management, paediatric first aid, safeguarding and EYFS courses.

The team here at Busy Bees Stevenage Great Ashby is stable and experienced with many team members achieving 5 - 25 years long service. We take pride in our low staff turnover resulting in consistency for the children in our care.

I find being part of children’s growth and development both rewarding and satisfying. My favourite part of my job is that I get to experience each and every aspect of working in a nursery. I get to enjoy the best of both worlds including working closely with parents and spending time supporting the children with their daily activities.

I love to plan social events so that parents can meet other families and I strive to promote parent partnership and involvement in the nursery.

I am incredibly proud of the nurturing environment we have created at our nursery as both of my children attended from age 8 months to school age and absolutely loved their experience.

I currently work Tuesday - Friday. Sian Stokes is the Centre Director on a Monday.

Meet the amazing team

What
Stevenage, Great Ashby
parents say

As a working parent and a first-time mom, it was incredibly hard to leave my child in someone else’s care — the worry of not knowing how he’ll be treated or if he’ll be truly looked after was overwhelming. But with Busy Bees, all those worries quickly faded. I feel calm, confident, and reassured knowing my son is in the right hands. The team is warm, professional, and genuinely caring. What’s even more comforting is seeing how much my son is learning and growing — he’s picking up skills and experiences that I sometimes struggle to provide at home. Busy Bees has become an extension of our family, and I’m truly grateful for the safe, nurturing environment they provide every day.
