A brand-new nursery has opened in Addlestone, providing high quality care and early years education for up to 113 local children.

Busy Bees Addlestone, on Simplemarsh Road, offers an exciting and inspiring environment for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers.

The centre team welcomed its first families to an open day on Saturday 11 February, where children explored a range of eco-themed craft and discovery activities and met TV personality Dave Benson Phillips who delivered an inspirational storytelling session.

Tanya Howard, Centre Director at Busy Bees Addlestone, said: “We feel so lucky to have been given the opportunity to be a part of this new nursery, which brings together carefully designed rooms, a child-centred approach and tailored care to give every single Busy Bees child the very best start in life.

“We intend to offer a home-from-home environment that is safe, secure, and nurturing, with plenty of room for children to play, learn and explore, creative play areas and outdoor spaces – and peace of mind for parents, knowing their child is in the best place.”

Tanya, who has more than 13 years of experience in early years, added: “It has been a privilege to introduce our first families to our beautiful nursery and to showcase some of the wonderful activities that will help to shape their children’s learning and development.”

The nursery has been designed with careful consideration of the environment and sustainability.

Some unique features include ‘indoor living pictures’ – wall mounted frames planted with a selection of foliage to support learning, health and wellbeing by naturally purifying the air and encouraging children to touch, smell and care for the plants.

Sustainable travel options are supported through the provision of a cycle rack for staff and parents, electric vehicle (EV) charging points for staff and a buggy store for parents who walk to drop-off/pick-up their children.

Now celebrating its 40th year, Busy Bees was founded in 1983 with one nursery and an aspiration to give children the best start in life. Today, the UK’s leading nursery group cares for more than 40,000 children in 391 centres in the UK and Ireland, and 75,000 children globally across 10 countries.

Marg Randles, Co-Founder of Busy Bees, said: “We started our first nursery to give our own children and others like them the best opportunities and are committed to ensuring that every child has the best start.

“Our Addlestone team look forward to playing their part in the lives of their community.”
