Hi, my name is Dave Bignall and I am the Centre Director here at Busy Bees in Apsley. I am passionate about early years and strive to create a home from home setting here at our nursery. I have worked in early years for almost 20 years, I began as a childminder in 2006 where I was graded as outstanding by Ofsted. I moved into nursery work in 2009 when I joined a chain of nurseries as maternity cover, working my way up to room leader, the deputy manager and then assistant manager before joining the Quality Assurance team. I hold a foundation degree in leadership and management within the early year’s workforce alongside designated safeguarding lead, paediatric first aid and first aid at work. I also have certificates in ACE (adverse Childhood Experiences) STEPS behaviour management, autism training alongside SENCO training. Throughout the duration of my time working in early teams, I have been involved in 10 Ofsted inspections all of which resulted in a strong “Good” grading.

I enjoy working closely with parents to ensure a happy vibrant nursery environment for your children to thrive in and help them grow to meet their full potential. 

I have a 5 year old son at home and enjoy spending time with my wife taking him to football training and swimming lessons, we also enjoy the zoo and holidaying in cottages in the UK.
