Director

Kate Grove

Hello, my name is Kate and I'm the Centre Director at Busy Bees Cheam.

I have worked in the early years sector for 18 years and hold Level 1, 2 and 3 childcare qualifications, along with a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism. I am also a proud mum of two children, which has given me an even greater appreciation for how important the early years are in shaping a child's future. I love seeing children grow, develop and discover new things each day. At Busy Bees Cheam, I'm passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment that feels like a home from home, where children, families and staff feel valued, supported and inspired to thrive.

What
Cheam
parents say

We’ve had such a lovely experience with Busy Bees Cheam. Kate is always very responsive, professional and helpful, and communication has always been great. Evelyn absolutely loves Unsa – she is always so warm, friendly and caring, and takes the time to tell us about Evelyn’s day and how she’s been getting on. Raeshma is also incredibly patient, friendly and helpful, and Sara is always lovely and welcoming too. We really appreciate the daily updates and find the app very useful. Most importantly, Evelyn is always happy to go in in the morning and comes home happy at the end of the day, which means a lot to us. We’ve been really happy with the nursery and are very grateful to Kate and the whole team for taking such good care of Evelyn. ❤️

My daughter enjoys attending this nursery and made a lot of friends. She says she loves her teachers and they’re the best, only shows how well they treat the children. She also learned a lot of new things and especially enjoys making creations which she looks forward to show us every after session. My daughter was very anxious and was crying a lot when she first started, but the teachers did very well and had been so patient until my daughter got her confidence and is now thriving and enjoying schooltime with BusyBees.

My little boy has attended this nursery for 3 years and has loved it. He has learnt so much there and made a lovely group of friends that I hope he will keep in contact with for years to come despite going to different schools in September. Having a lovely group of nursery parent friends was an unexpected perk! There is a sense of community here which is great and the nursery really comes alive at key moments like easter and Christmas and the staff make these times of year extra special for the children. There are also little events and activities raising money for charity. The recent preschool graduation ceremony was a real highlight where the staff went above and beyond to hold a party for the graduationg children at the weekend giving up their own time to do so. Other highlights over the years include christmas parties and fairs, police visiting the nursery to teach the children and letting the children sit in the police cars, easter bonnet parades, parents evenings, lovely mothers and fathers day crafts, bringing buzz the bee home for a weekend and keeping a diary of his adventures with us etc The staff are great here, particularly over the last year or so the staff turnover is very low which shows the staff are happy and you can see that they enjoy their work and care for the children. There are many members of staff who have worked with my son for the whole time he has attended. Kate the manager is a great asset to the nursery and is very kind and friendly, on many occasions over the years I have seen her come away from the office to personally help if children are struggling to settle and reassures the parents. Its great to have both management and the staff in the rooms proactively engaging in the childrens wellbeing. The nursery has its own busy bees app now which is so easy to use, i can see exactly what my son has been up to including what he has eaten and drank, if he has slept, if he has been in the garden, if he has had suncream on etc. They also take photos of their play and send observations of their learning and activities and provide in depth development reviews at key milestones. He comes home with lots of lovely artwork and craft. The staff take their time to do a proper handover on drop off and pick up. My son has had accidents at the nursery which happens with small children and the staff deal with them promptly and professionally with a phone call straight away and a form with all the details of what happened. I have a new baby who will be going here too. I have recently visited most other nurseries in the area and for our family I'm confident busy bees continues to be the best care that nurserys can offer in the area. The fees are also very good for the area and the location with car park is very handy for london and other commutes and the nursery has excellent opening times e.g is only closed on national holidays and weekends meaning childcare is reliable all year round which helps when you also need to work all year round.
