Chrissie Richardson

Nursery Manager

I have been managing the Huntingdon Busy Bees since October 2001. During my time here I have seen the nursery grow in to the success it is to day, this is mainly down to the quality and long service of many of staff that work closely with the children. My childcare career spans over 30 years which began as a child minder after having my own children. One of my other passions was teaching swimming which I made a career of early in my childcare career. I am qualified swimming teacher for both children and babies. I have taught from babies up to coaching level, including children with special needs.

I pride myself on my hands on approach which I have adopted throughout my 15 years of being a manager. My qualifications include the Early Years Foundation Degree, both First Aid at Work, Paediatric First Aid and the HABC Level 3 in Supervising of Food Safely in Catering. These along with my Safeguarding and Child Safety Training, my life skills gives me an all round prospective in providing the children my nursery the level of care and education that they deserve.

I have a good relationship with the both the children and parents within the nursery as we work together to enhance the development and spiritual well being of their children.

What parents say:

‘Chrissie the manager is always here for advise and support’

‘it’s rarity that a Manager knows all her children by name and has such a good relationship and interest in them all’

I use to work at a nursery in Poland before coming to England. I started at Busy Bees in August 2017 after working in a restaurant for a period of time, but I decided I loved working with children and that's what I wanted to be doing. In my free time I work at the Polish Saturday School teaching English and my hobby is crafting.
