Kirsty Butterworth

Nursery Manager

Hello, I am Kirsty, the Nursery Manager.

I started at Colton Mill as a Qualified Early Years Educator in the 1-2's section in 2005. I have from there been promoted to Room Manager for the base room, then Senior Room Manager for the 2-3's section, before again being promoted to Assistant Manager. Through my role as Assistant Manager, I was able to achieve an in depth knowledge of both leadership and management and day to day nursery life. I have now progressed in to the role of  Manager for the nursery.  Through my time at Busy Bees I have had the opportunity to access various training opportunities, including First Aid at Work, Customer Service, as well as completing an NVQ in Leadership and Management. I am the Safeguarding Officer for the nursery also.

Assistant Manager

Hi my name is Cassie Appleyard and I am the Assistant Manager here at Colton Mill. I have worked for the company since 2007, and I'm currently based in the pre-school section of the nursery. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and Leadership and Management, and currently working toward my Level 5. During my time here I have done various training and qualifications including SEN, first aid at work ,Makaton and food related courses. I am also the childcare representative for the nursery

Melissa
Financial Administrator

Hello, I am Melissa and I have worked for Busy Bees at Colton Mill since 2004. I initially started as a Qualified Early Years Educator and progressed on to become the Assistant Manager for the setting. However since returning from maternity leave, I am now the Financial Administrator for the nursery. I have attended courses on accounts, coldharbour and nurserycare, and work Monday to Wednesday.

Shelley
Senior Room Manager

Hello, My name is Shelley, I am based in Tulip room as the Senior Room Manager. I have worked at Busy Bees since 2007 and I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and I am currently working towards a qualification in Leadership and Management. I have attended many courses such as food hygiene and first aid. I also run the Baby Development Group, providing exciting activities for visiting babies and their families

Senior Room Manager

Hi my name is Lucy Porter and I am a Senior Room Manager here at Colton based in the 2-3's section. I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, and have recently begun my Level 3 in Leadership and Management. I have undertaken many courses including paediatric first aid, food hygiene, safeguarding and equality and diversity.

Jenny
Room Manager

Hello, my name is Jenny Boulding, I joined Busy Bees in December 2014, at the Guiseley nursery, but due to re-locating I transferred to Colton Mill in 2016. I am based in Beech Room, in the pre-school section as a Room Manager. I have attended various training through Busy Bees training department, as well as holding a level 3 qualification in childcare.

Chef

Hi, I'm Kirsty. I joined Busy Bees in 2006. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Food Hygiene and the safety of foods. I also hold a NVQ Level 3 in Children's Learning and Development, which I used to put into practice when I was based within the nursery, until my passion for cooking led to a change in roles. I enjoy cooking up various healthy and nutritious meals for the children, and cater for different dietary requirements. I am also the Health and Safety Co-Ordinator for the nursery.

Qualified Early Years Educator

Hello my name is Karen. I have worked for Busy Bees for many years, caring for the 1-2 year old's. At present I am working towards a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, and am enjoying developing the existing knowledge I already have. As I have 3 children of my own who are now grown up, I enjoy providing the children here at nursery with stimulating activities to help them grow and develop.

Hello, my name is Faye. I initially starting working for Busy Bees as a Cover Assistant. This was a great opportunity to cover in all areas of the nursery, caring for all ages. I was then taken on as a full time member of staff, where I was based in the 2-3's section, and I now work in Tulip room, caring for the 1-2 year old's. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare.

Hello, my name is Kirsty. I have worked for Busy Bees for many years. The majority of this time was spent working with the 1-2 year old's. I am now based in Buttercup room, as a Qualified Early Years Educator. I enjoy following the Early Years Foundation Stage, to ensure the children are provided with opportunities to enable them to learn and develop, in a fun way.

Hello, my name is Katie. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare. I have worked for Busy Bees for many years, where I am based in the 2-3's section in Apple room. I have 2 children of my own, who also attend nursery. I work part time Monday to Wednesday.

Early Years Educator

Hello, my name is Fernanda. I have worked for Busy Bees for many years, where I cover staff lunches. I work Monday to Friday, between 11.30 am and 2.30 pm, term time only. I have children of my own, who attend school. I spend most of my time covering in pre-school, though I do sometimes support in other areas of the nursery.

Early Years Educator

Jenny is employed as a Cover Assistant, where she spends her time covering in all areas of the nursery. Jenny has worked for Busy Bees for many years, building up experience with all age ranges. Jenny holds a Level 2 in childcare, and has accessed various training opportunities, during her time with us, including Paediatric First Aid and Early Years Foundation Stage.

Hi, my name is Caitlin. I started at Busy Bees in September 2016, as an Early Years Apprentice. Through my Apprenticeship, I spend time in the various areas of the nursery, as well as accessing various training courses, helping to broaden my experiences and knowledge in childcare. I am working towards a level qualification.

Hi, my name is Jade. I joined Busy Bees in January 2017, as a Qualified Early Years Educator. I hold a level 3 qualification in childcare. I am based within the 2-3's section, in Apple room. Through my qualification, I had the opportunity to experience various childcare settings, and also have a young son of my own.

Hi, my name is Kimberley. I joined Busy Bees in February 2017, as a Qualified Early Years Educator, and hold a level 3 qualification in Childcare. I am based in Damson room, in the 2-3's section. As I am continuing to study to enhance my knowledge, my working days are Monday, Tuesday and Friday. I have previous experience of working within a day care caring for children under the age of 5 years.

Hi my name is Lisa. I joined Busy Bees in February 2018, as a Cover Assistant. I will be spending time in all areas of the nursery, getting to know all of the children. I have previously worked within a school setting, and hold a qualification in Food Safety.

Assistant Chef

Hello my name is Mandy. I joined Busy Bees in July 2018, where I am based in the kitchen as the Assistant Chef. I hold a level 2 in food safety, and assist with the day to day cooking and preparation of the nutritious foods we offer to the children. I enjoy spending time in the nursery, involving the children in cooking with me activities, where they learn about the different processes of creating different dishes, and the importance of a balanced diet.

Early Years Educator

Hello my name is Paige. I joined Busy Bees in February 2018 as an Early Years Apprentice. Throughout my Apprenticeship I have had the opportunity to spend time in all areas of the nursery, caring for all age groups. Once completed I will hold a level 2 qualification in childcare. I have also completed a range of courses as part of my qualification including Safeguarding, paediatric first aid food safety.

Hello, my name is Michaela. I joined Busy Bees in April 2019. I am employed as a Qualified Early Years Educator, where I spend my time within the 2-3's section, in Apple room. I also work part time as a nanny. I hold a level 3 qualification in childcare, along with other qualifications including being First aid trained.

Hello, my name is Ellie. I joined Busy Bees in September 2019, as an Early Years Apprentice. As such I spend the following 12 months, working towards my level 2 qualification. As well as spending time in all areas of the nursery, I will also have the opportunity to attend a range of courses, to extend my knowledge and experience.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I joined Busy Bees in September 2019. I am based in Buttercup room, caring for the babies. I hold a level 3 qualification in childcare, and have experience within different childcare settings, as well as raising my own children. I will continue to build on my knowledge by accessing Busy Bees training over coming months.
