Meet the Team

Nursery Manager

Hi, my name is Bernadette Doyle.

I started as the new manager at Port Hamilton on 1st December 2014. I have been in childcare for over 16 years. In that time I have worked in various settings working my way up to manger in 2006. I have an H.N.C qualification in Childcare and Education and presently in my 4th year of my Childhood Practise Award Degree. I am also a qualified paediatric first aider, first aider at work and have my level 4 leading in Child Protection and basic food hygiene.

I am a mum of two, I have a daughter of 24 and a son of 21 years of age. Being a mum is my biggest achievement out of work. Being a mum is the best experience I can share with you through all the knowledge and experience I have gained through the years.

I am here to offer help, care and support to all staff and parents but most importantly to your children.

I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know everyone, so please pop your head in and say hello. My door is always open and I always welcome and take on board new ideas and opinions.

Our aims are:

For every child to have the opportunity to experience a broad and balanced curriculum through activities which are suited to their needs and interests.
To encourage learners to recognise and achieve their potential through the identification of success.
To provide exciting and relevant learning experiences so that children can enjoy their education and develop a life long love of learning.
To ensure that we provide an environment which is safe, welcoming and caring for all our children and families.
To ensure that our children, families and staff members feel valued supported and respected.
To continue improving the quality of our children’s experiences and learning through an effective programme of continuous staff development.
To ensure that all children have the opportunity to realise their full potential regardless of gender, race, religion or ability through a programme, which will support their individual needs.
For our children to have an understanding of the world around them and their place within it.
The Livingston team are dedicated to improving and developing their own knowledge and understanding of childcare and development by regularly attending internal training and external training.

We aim everyday for all our children to have a fun learning experience through play in a safe and stimulating environment whilst receiving a very high standard of care. This ensures all children will become happy, caring, confident individuals. Throughout our good practice guidelines we follow Curriculum for Excellence and Pre Birth to Three.
