Welcome to Busy Bees’ Selly Oak nursery! This big building is the place where we set children up for the very best start in life. It’s split out into three areas, so children can be around others at a similar stage in their development. We have Bombo’s Room for babies, Bumble’s Room for toddlers, and Buzz’s Room for pre-schoolers. Each of these rooms is spacious, light, and decorated in soft, soothing colours.

Our nursery staff take a nurturing approach to learning – the aim is to fully unleash your child’s potential. So, this means giving them plenty of opportunities to get involved in fun and engaging activities. All of our rooms are equipped with toys that allow little ones to learn while having fun – whether it’s sand and water play tables, the dinosaur play mat or rattles that encourage fine motor skill development.

Nursery Facilities

You'll find our Selly Oak nursery on Oak Tree Lane, just a short distance from Bristol Road (A4040 / B384).

Want to reach us by public transport? There are plenty of options with the Selly Oak (served by 11A Outer Circle, 38 and 46 buses), Lodge Hill Road (Stop SH) (served by X21 Platinum buses) and Lodge Hill Road (Stop SK) (served by 20, 61 and 63 buses) all just a short walk away from our front door.

Additionally, Selly Oak train station, which runs on the Cross-City Line between Redditch, Birmingham and Lichfield, is also just a 10-minute walk away. If you're visiting us by car, you'll find plenty of parking space. Our spacious car park also ensures parents can safely drop-off and pick-up children away from the busy road.

Here, at Busy Bees, we follow our Bee Curious curriculum. With this, we help to prepare your child for the next big chapter in their life – primary school. Want to see what your little one has been learning at our Selly Oak nursery? Just download our Busy Bees app.

We also like to get the kids out and enjoying the great outdoors. Like our nursery’s rooms, this space is split into age groups. Each area features age-appropriate toys and obstacles, such as balance beams, seesaws and a racetrack. They’re there to allow the kids to challenge themselves and learn about taking risks in a safe and secure environment.

Director

Jodie Fisher

Hi , my name is Jodie and I am the Centre Director here at Busy Bees Selly Oak.

I joined Busy Bees as Centre Director in January 2024, but worked at this centre as the  Assistant Centre Director for several years before this.

I have 15 years childcare experience, I started my journey in childcare as an apprentice and have worked my way up to the position I am now, with experience in many different types of childcare and education  settings.  I have a Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies.  I have a real passion for SEN and I am the nursery SENDco. I am the mother of two boys. I find my job extremely fulfilling and I love nothing more then sitting in the base rooms and watching the children enjoying their fun filled days.

The staff at Selly Oak  are committed to providing quality childcare and they take great pride in watching the children grow and develop as they move through the rooms and eventually head off to school knowing they have given them the best start in life.

What
Selly Oak
parents say

I’ve had a wonderful experience with the nursery. The staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely care about the children’s development. My child has grown in confidence and enjoys attending every day. Communication with parents is clear and consistent, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend this nursery to other parents.

My two children are at busy bees and they both have a lot of fun. I trust the staff to take care of them which allows me to concentrate when I’m at work. Thank you
