Located on Tarmount Lane in Shoreham-by-Sea, Sunshine Day Nursery is a well-established early years setting that has been at the heart of the local community since 2009. The 110 place nursery is known for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children and their families feel welcomed and supported from day one. Sunshine Day Nursery has recently become part of the Busy Bees family, which now sparks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

In 2024 the nursery underwent a full refurbishment, bringing bright, modern spaces to life and creating a fresh environment where children can learn and play in a comfortable and safe environment. With five purpose-built rooms designed for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers, each age group is supported in a way that feels tailored and personal. Beyond the indoors, our large outdoor areas invite children to explore nature, enjoy physical activity, and develop curiosity about the world around them. Every space, whether inside or out, has been designed to inspire discovery, creativity, and a sense of belonging.

At the heart of Sunshine Day Nursery is the experienced and dedicated team. Some Members of staff have been apart of the team for years, building deep and lasting connections with children and their families. Our ‘Good’ rating by Ofsted, gives families the confidence that their child’s early years are being supported to the very highest standard.

Meals and Snacks Provided
All meals, drinks and snacks are prepared on-site by our chef and are NHS accredited.

Outdoor Facilities
Our outdoor environment offers space to explore and take safe risks with the support of our team, aiding child development.

Sensory Room
Our Sensory Room is a relaxing space providing a unique sensory experience with activities and equipment to explore, engaging and stimulating children’s senses.

Parent Room
Our parent room is a dedicated safe space for us to get to know your family and you to speak in confidence with our nursery team about your child's nursery life.

Smart Board
Our Interactive Smart Board is used daily to bring learning to life and provides children with a hands-on approach with technology.

Funded Childcare
We offer government funded places for children aged 2 to 4 years, please speak to the Centre Director for more information.

Teacher
We have a fully qualified Teacher in our pre-school room who delivers exciting learning opportunities, whilst ensuring statutory and legal welfare requirements are met for every child.

Foundation Class
The foundation class nurtures each child's natural curiosity within a structured framework providing pre-school children with an early introduction to school life.

We offer online booking for extra ad-hoc sessions at this nursery with Pebble.

Food at Sunshine Day Nursery by Busy Bees

We understand that as parents of young children you will know best what your child will enjoy eating at nursery. At Sunshine Day Nursery by Busy Bees, we emphasise the importance of a healthy diet and exercise. The nursery promotes a high standard of hygiene in its work. Children are taught the importance of washing hands before meal times and after using the toilet. Disposable gloves and aprons are worn by staff when preparing food.

Preparing for School

In order to best prepare the children for the next big chapter of their lives, Busy Bees do all that they can to support and celebrate the transition. All of the planned activities and experiences which take place within our Busy Bees Nursery in Shoreham-by-Sea are designed to provide a foundation of skills that will help them grow in becoming confident and capable learners.
