Busy Bees Nursery at Watford Hospital is located within the hospital grounds and is open to both NHS Trust employees and the general public.
The Nursery is a 46 place nursery with three individual base rooms which are bright and welcoming. The nursery has a large, secure outdoor play area that is accessible from each of the indoor base rooms and provides free flow experiences for all the children so they can have the choice of exploring the inside or the outside environment.
Our nursery provides GOOD childcare as reported by Ofsted in July 2015. We have a very strong staff team here at Watford with a wide range of qualifications in the team and the Manager with a Level 5 in Management. We encourage all of the staff team to further their training to develop their skills and achievements through the Busy Bees training department. We have currently 3 staff on Busy Bees training which has made a huge difference.
Rafal is our Nursery chef and provides healthy and nutritional meals for the children on a daily basis. We are very proud to have received the Bronze award with the Soil Association and also 5 stars on our Environmental Health Inspection. Rafal also works with the children and helps set up cooking activities and works tirelessly in developing foods for our children with Dietary and Medical requirements.
The staff team are passionate about the range of indoor and outdoor activities they provide to encourage and promote the developmental stages and interests of each individual child. The nursery offers enhancements throughout the nursery starting in our Baby Room with the Baby Enhancement baskets which range from animals to picnics, Our Wonderland room provides Steps to Independence and Wake and Shake, and Finally our Pre-school with Wake and Shake. The nursery as a whole provides a Community Support initiative which provides free places for children in the community.
We have built up wonderful relationship with our local Children Centre and other local agencies including Health Visitors and the Early Years team at Hertfordshire County Council, to help us make necessary changes and improvements we provide a Parent Partnership Group which allows us to work in partnership with our parents and listen to their views.
