Nursery Facilities

Here at Kids 1st, we understand that every child is different and develops at their pace. That's why our nursery is split by age range, with separate rooms for babies, toddlers, and pre-school children. This approach allows the children to grow and develop their confidence alongside those at a similar stage in their journey.

Our nursery rooms are light, airy, and finished with an inviting decor. They all feature lots of toys, games and activity areas designed to keep the kids fully engaged and learning while they're with us - from play kitchens to drawing tables. We look to set your child up with the best start in life, by following the Bee Curious curriculum, our team ensures all children are prepared for the next big milestone: full-time primary school education.

Our Billingham nursery also offers outdoor space for children to explore. We encourage the children to enjoy the fresh air, be active and, most importantly, have lots of fun in the process. It's a space where they can also learn about taking safe risks under the supervision of our nursery staff.

We're located on Wynyard Business Park (just off the A689) - it's about a 10-minute drive away from Billingham town centre.

When you arrive, you'll find plenty of on-site car parking in front of the nursery, and away from the main part of the business park. This means you don't have to worry about busy roads when dropping off or picking up your child.

Our nursery on Wynyard Business Park also features a secure buggy store. So, if you want, you can always leave your buggy with us when you drop off your child and come back for it when you pick them up - safe and sound.

Ready to come and see the facilities at our Billingham day nursery? Our team can't wait to give you the warm welcome. Book your visit today.

Director

Megan Mulvey

Hello, I’m Megan, Centre Director at Kids 1st Wynyard.

I achieved my Level 3 CACHE Diploma in Childcare & Education in June 2009 and joined Kids 1st Wynyard later that year as a Nursery Assistant. Since then, I’ve been fortunate to grow with the nursery, progressing through a variety of roles before becoming Centre Director. I’m incredibly proud of my journey and the amazing team I work alongside every day.

Working with children has always been my passion. I love being part of their early years, supporting them as they learn, grow and develop the confidence and skills they need for the future. Building strong relationships with families is equally important to me, and I believe working together gives every child the very best start in life. While it’s always emotional to see our children leave for school, it’s wonderful to know we’ve helped prepare them for their next adventure.

I’m also passionate about giving back to our local community. As Wynyard’s Charity Champion, I’ve helped organise a range of fundraising events over the years, and I’m incredibly proud that together we’ve raised tens of thousands of pounds for local causes. Seeing our families, children and team come together to make a difference is something I truly value.

Outside of work, I love spending time with family and friends, getting outdoors for long walks and capturing the beauty of nature through photography. These moments help me recharge and bring the same enthusiasm and positivity back to nursery each day.

Meet the amazing team

What
Wynyard
parents say

We honestly couldn’t recommend this nursery enough. Our little boy started here at just 9 months old and stayed right through until he finished pre-school, and our little girl has now followed in his footsteps, also starting at 9 months old. We couldn’t be happier with the care they have both received. We watched our little boy grow from a baby into a confident, happy little boy who was completely ready for school, and Kids 1st played such a huge part in that. It made choosing somewhere for our little girl incredibly easy, and seeing her now so settled and happy there means the world to us. There is such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere and we’ve always felt that our children are genuinely cared for and loved. We’re so grateful for everything the team has done and continues to do for our family, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the nursery to anyone. ❤️

Both of my children have attended kids first in Wynyard and loved their time at nursery. Megan is very accommodating and makes the children feel safe and welcome. She takes the time to get to know children and their families. There are so many lovely members of staff including Caitlin, Charlea, Euan and Lorraine plus many more who go out of their way to make your children feel happy at nursery! Thank you so much for all you do.

Our daughter absolutely loved her time at Kids First Wynyard, and we are so grateful to all the staff for the huge part they played in her life, from when she arrived as a 1 year-old baby to when she left as a confident, happy little girl ready for school. We will really miss coming to nursery each day, where the staff were always cheerful and friendly. Special thanks to Megan who was incredibly helpful from our very first visit, and also to Charlotte, who was a brilliant key worker for our daughter in pre-school. We had great experiences with all the staff but in pre-school especially they really helped prepare our daughter for a lifetime of adventures with amazing patience and kindness. Thank you Anna, Charlotte, Euan, Megan and Rachel, and everyone at Kids First Wynyard!
